2020 #Jamuary 64-Pad Drums by Musical Guest

Happy Jamuary 2020!

The #Jamuary Challenge has been gaining popularity among artists and producers since 2016. The idea is to take part in doing or creating something that relates to music every day during the month of January. This could range from making a small piece of music every day, to learning how to better use a new piece of gear, practicing your instrument, or creating new devices and presets. The point is to help you grow, learn new things, and over all get closer to your goals as an artist or producer.

To help you accomplish that, I put together this FREE 64-Pad Ableton Live Drum Rack as my first contribution to the #Jamuary Challenge. This pack contains carefully produced drum sounds sampled from hardware drum machines and processed with some of my favorite plugins. This drum rack is meant to be a versatile tool that helps you get your creativity flowing.

This drum rack is compatible with all editions of Live 10 and is set up for 64-pad mode on your Push or Push2.

Jamuary is meant to be a low-pressure experience, so remember to take it easy on yourself and have fun. The #Jamuary Challenge is useful for practicing the concepts you want to dive into deeper during the rest of the year. In doing so, take every idea as far as you can within that day and move on to the next thing the following day.

Think of the #Jamuary Challenge as a musical meditation where you practice many disciplines like:

     - Not being judgmental about your ideas

     - Focusing on the process, not the result

     - Working ideas to completion efficiently

     - Creating demos that you continue perfecting the rest of the year

     - Being present and in the moment when making music

     - Establishing the habit of creating daily; even when you don’t feel like it

     - Pushing your boundaries and getting out of your comfort zone

     - Just make something; it doesn’t have to be your best work
